Hall of Fame - New points system Empty Hall of Fame - New points system

Bored at work here!

For our Hall of Fame part of the website, I suggest moving to a Four Four Two style system of points rather than just a trophy count (what they came up with a few years ago in the mag to decide on the best manager ever - Paisley v Ferguson).

5 points - Champions League
3 points - Premier League / Euro Cup
2 points - FA Cup
1 point - League Cup / Charity Shield / Super Cup / World Club Cup

This would leave our table as follows:

Geir : 9 points
Steve: 2 points
Kim: 1 point

Thoughts?

Under this system:

Paisley: 49
Ferguson: 70 (+ 22 in scotland)

Though, before the last CL win Paisley was ahead.

I've been working on updating:

1) each manager's honour roll
2) calculating hall of fame (using my own point system)
3) each manager's league final league position

I hope to be done by the end of this week, with clan now on I can't do any more until thursday

Weve had this discussion before and while we agree in principle we couldnt decide on how the points would be weighted.

Now what i did was ask every Human manager what there opinion was and came up with the following weighting but even after doing that it was not good enough for some even though it was formulated based on what the majority thought :

GEIR CL EURO WCC LEAGUE FA LC ESC CS
KIM CL LEAGUE EURO FA LEAGUE CUP/CS,WCC,ESP
JACK CL LEAGUE FA EURO LC WCC/ESC CS
STEVE CL LEAGUE EURO FA LC CS WCC ESC
JOE CL LEAGUE FA EURO LC WCC CS/ESC
BELLY WCC ESC CL LEAGUE EURO FA LC CS
STU CL LEAGUE EURO FA ESC WCC LC CS
MIKE LEAGUE CL FA EURO LG CUP SUPERCUP WCC CS
JIMMY LEAGUE CL FA EURO LC WCC ESC CS

Therefore the points system would be :

1ST - CL - 8 POINTS
2ND - LEAGUE - 7 POINTS
3RD - FA - 6 POINTS
4TH - EUROPA LG - 5 POINTS
5TH - LC - 4 POINTS
6TH - WCC - 3 POINTS
7TH - ESC - 2 POINTS
8TH - CS - 1 POINT

I still think this would be the best way.
